Freebairn signs on at Synergy Seeds

Ian Freebairn has joined international and domestic pasture seed supplier Synergy Seeds in production and procurement.

Ian Freebairn has joined international and domestic pasture seed supplier Synergy Seeds in production and procurement.

He will be working alongside Wayne Heading to co-ordinate its expanding seed production base of new lucerne and pasture legume cultivars.

The role will also involve procuring public cultivars such as lucerne, sub clovers, annual clovers, medics, perennial clovers, vetches, and selected forage cereals.

The increased global demand for seed produced by Synergy Seeds has allowed the company to expand its seed procurement team.

Ian is based in Glencoe, Southeast SA, where he will mostly be working with the company’s seed grower base – there and in the Western Districts of Victoria.

He joins Synergy with a broad knowledge and vast career experience in the seed Industry.

Originally from the Mid North of SA, he has also held agronomy, production and management roles throughout his career.

Most recently Ian was general manager for seed production at Seed Distributors, territory sales manager at Pasture Genetics/ S&W Seedco, and Production Manager at South Pacific Seeds.

With his wealth of experience in small seed and horticulture crops, his knowledge will be invaluable to Synergy’s grower partners, international and domestic customers, and the Synergy Seeds team.
