It is with mixed emotions that Ace Ohlsson has announced that its general manager Charlie Horder is retiring from the business effective 14 July.

In a statement on the Sydney Markets website, the company said Mr Horder has made the decision to call time on his career and is excited for the next stage in life and spending more time with his family.

Mr Horder has been an integral part of the Ace Ohlsson 85 year journey, starting with the company in 1995 as general manager, leading the business under Stuart Merchant for 22 years and then the last six years under Elders ownership.

Under Mr Horder’s stewardship the business has grown from one store at the Sydney markets to seven branches across NSW and the integration of Turfcare Australia into the Ace network. Elders acquired Ace Ohlsson in May 2017 and Mr Horder managed the successful transition of the business to the new ownership.

The company has sent its thanks to Mr Horder for his dedication to the business, his clients and the industry as a whole, stating on its website: “Charlie leaves the business in great shape, and will hand the leadership of the business across to Gus Greenwood who will continue as area manager for the whole Ace business.

“Please join us all at Ace Ohlsson in congratulating Charlie on a wonderful career.”
