For those wanting to independently test new products, understand new and old use patterns or monitor resistance in-field, completing your own trial work has just become a whole lot more accessible, thanks to the team at Trial Supplies.

Business manager Frankie Davies said “we have always strived to break down the barriers to research that individuals and companies face”.

He says that strategy began with the supply of safe, efficient and accurate equipment, developed by the company’s local team, and has evolved to now improving the knowledge transfer to new customers, on how best to use this equipment in their proposed trial work.

Located on the Trial Supplies YouTube channel, and embedded on the website, plus included with every spray boom via QR code, Mr Davies says all customers are now only a click away from watching the set-up and use of their Trial Supplies equipment.

“The series of instructional videos now available, allows anyone to pick up the equipment and feel confident they are following the right procedure, to safely and accurately complete their field trials,” he added.

Tobias Mansbridge has been building Brolga and Jacana hand booms out of Ballarat for the past four years and says he is excited to have their users feel more confident in handling the equipment.

“The Brolga is the main hand boom that we supply into the Australian and international research market, and it is easy for existing users to become complacent about how easy it is to operate, when you have been surrounded by it for so long,” Mr Mansbridge says.

“The instructional videos are a great way to build that knowledge base for our new customers, who want to complete this work but may not have access to someone with the trials experience,” he says.

The new series of instructional videos cover the Brolga broadacre boom and the Jacana horticultural boom.

The videos run through the different components of the boom and how to set-up the equipment including suggested pressure settings.

They also cover the different configurations of each boom available, to enable spraying either soil, short or tall crops, fencelines, under tree or vine, or narrow banded applications.

The set-up and use of the CO2 Pressure Pack, that powers the range of Trial Supplies booms, is also covered in a separate video.

A fourth instructional video covering the full process of priming, spraying and moving to the next treatment during a trial, to minimise gas usage and cross contamination of each treatment is also available for new and old customers.

Mr Davies says Trial Supplies is keen to make these videos accessible to new and existing customers, and encourages any existing user to get in touch for a free QR code sticker, that they can attach to their boom.

He says this helps enable anyone picking up the equipment to know how to operate it.

“Along with giving everyone access to these instructional videos, we continue to improve our offering to our customers by giving them access to the equipment that will make their jobs safer and easier,” Mr Davies added.

“Some of our recent product additions include the Swath Gobbler, that digitally maps sprayer deposition across the width of the boom or drone swaths, and a variety of portable spray demonstration booths to suit your promotional needs,” he said.
