Australia is a diverse country, with a range of different ecosystems and landscapes to protect and nurture. Gallagher leads the market in offering an extensive product range that reflects the diversity of Australia’s environment and has a premium fencing and animal management solution for the needs of any property.

Gallagher’s business development manager – fence, Graeme Mulligan said electric fencing is a cost-effective and reliable way to control animal movement and manage pasture.

“It keeps domestic animals in, feral animals out, separates groups of livestock, and fences off sensitive areas such as roads and rivers. It’s generally more effective than traditional fencing, as it creates a psychological barrier (as well as physical) by delivering a short, safe, and memorable shock that trains animals to respect the fencing.”

Gallagher offers both permanent and temporary fencing in its line-up of solutions. Permanent fences use highly conductive fence wire, together with sturdy fence posts.

“They are easy to install and operate and provide highly effective and long-lasting animal control,” Mr Mulligan said.

“Temporary fencing is a more flexible option, ideal for rotation grazing or short-term animal control. It is portable, and easy to assemble and take down.

“Gallagher’s flagship fence, the Gallagher Westonfence, is a complete permanent fencing solution that stands the test of time and outperforms legacy fencing on every measure.

“It’s a robust, low-maintenance fence that is easy to construct and effectively excludes feral animals such as kangaroos and pigs. Setting the standard for convenience, the performance of the Gallagher Westonfence is delivered directly to your smartphone, giving you peace of mind that your livestock is where they should be: secure and safe from predators.”

Mr Mulligan said in most cases, electric fencing solutions are more cost effective than traditional fencing, as they require less materials and less labour to install.

One recent customer said about the Gallagher Westonfence, “they’re well-designed fences…they’re solid, they’ll be there forever’. A quality, long-lasting fence is an investment for any farming property, and Gallagher electric fencing options hold up really beautifully.”

Of course, a fence is only as powerful as its energizer.

Mr Mulligan said Gallagher i Series Energizers are intelligent, adapting voltage according to conditions to deliver more power to the end of the fence line when necessary.

“They are engineered to perform in harsh farming conditions, including extreme temperatures and lightning, and have in-built fence monitoring technology. This means you can hook up your energizer to a Wi-Fi network and have alerts sent directly to your phone through the Ag Devices App.

“Gallagher electric fences are easily to install and easy to maintain. With a voltmeter and fault finder, you can measure the performance of an electric fence simply and safely. If there are any faults in the circuit, these devices point you in the right direction, and saves hours checking the fence for shorts.

“Many farmers are time poor, managing large-scale complex businesses,” said another Gallagher customer, “and the intelligence and innovation of the i Series energizers brings about peace of mind, and the ability to remotely monitor the performance of fences.”

When it comes to providing premium quality products and service for customers and the community, Gallagher doesn’t fall short, Mr Mulligan said.

“Gallagher is actively community-minded, and proudly supports sustainable agriculture and conservation-focussed fencing projects across the country in conjunction with Landcare Australia. In 2022, they provided financial support to 17 groups or individuals to promote sustainable land management practises and agricultural production.

“When it comes to installation, Gallagher is happy to provide technical help and support for all hardware and software products. The Customer Service Team and Territory Managers are only a phone call away to help out with any queries or concerns.”
