When control of rats and mice is proving to be a problem, Rudducks has some unique and highly effective options. As well as the Pyrethrum based insecticides featured in November Rural Business, Rudduck offers two rodenticide products for the rural market.
Rudduck managing director Eris Hess said he was pleased and proud to be taking Rudduck back to its original roots in the agricultural sector. “By offering our unique range of pest control products to rural resellers, farmers and primary producers will now have ready access to our quality on-farm pest solutions.”
He said Alpha Rapid is a small block bait that is very specific to mice, having relatively low toxicity to other, larger mammals. It works as an anaesthetic, causing drowsiness to the mouse, with death following very quickly. It is a unique mode of action, with no secondary toxicity and no build up in the environment.”
Mr Hess said several professional pest control operators have tested and used the product to control some of the massive mouse populations that recently invaded Central Western NSW.
Feedback has been absolutely outstanding. One pest manager from Dubbo said: “I am picking up about 200 dead mice per day around my home – I’d estimate that each small block kills between 40 and 50 mice.”
Clearly Alpha Rapid is an ideal option to use in and around farm buildings during a mouse plague, Mr Hess said.
The second product is the Rudduck Rodenticide Paste which is a very highly palatable rodent bait formulation containing attractive, high energy fats. The difference from other products being the unique attractant properties as well as the application.
Rudduck Rodenticide Paste is supplied in a 300g cartridge to fit a standard caulking gun, so bait application is quick, clean and easy – and requires no direct contact with the product.
