With continued demand for conventional fencing following fires, floods and continued farming expansion and routine maintenance, one name stands proud above all others.

The Murray manufacturing facility in Albury, combines over 70 years of manufacturing experience and the state-of-the-art equipment with Whites’ 50-year market experience.

The origins of the Murray brand name should be no mystery to anyone, says Whites’ trade marketing specialist Natalie Garnett.

“The Albury site sits on the banks of the Murray River; where the 2500kms of river runs through South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.

“It takes the right people, with the right materials in the right place to successfully run a space as big as the Albury facility and it’s about to get a whole lot bigger!

“An additional 2000-square-metre warehouse has been constructed across the road from the original 4000-square-metre site, which allows for the Albury facility to expand its operation to facilitate a distribution centre to its network.

“By purchasing the site next door and building a purpose-built warehouse facility – it is now manufacturing, storing and then distributing direct from Albury,” Ms Garnett said.

This means Whites and Murray can now get their product to customers faster in the area centred on the Riverina. “For us, the Riverina area covers from Adelaide, all of Victoria and includes NSW – up to Dubbo; covering about 10% of Australia.”

Murray continues to invest in its local community, creating jobs, supporting local businesses and always striving to provide greater value to farmers and fencing contractors in the rural market.

Proudly Australian-made

With Albury evolving to include a distribution centre, Ms Garnett said that doesn’t mean their manufacturing will change. The Albury centre continues to produce Australian-made fencing and wire – including the double-notch welded Murray N-stay Gates as well as the Murray Stiff Stay wire and Murray Hinged Joint prefabricated wire fencing.

Ms Garnett said in the last year the Albury manufacturing centres used 18,356 kilometres of line wire to produce Murray Stiff Stay wire fencing! “It’s only 15,000km’s to do a lap of Australia, following the coastlines!”

Murray Barbed Wire is another product staple that’s made in the Albury plant. The reverse twist style gives the Murray High Tensile Barbed wire the strength to withstand heavy pressure from large animals or loads.

Good for the environment

The large Murray facility boasts a sustainable energy source, operating on 200kw of solar panels. By running on solar power, the Albury facility is reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the solar panels assist offsetting the power usage.

“Murray Gates are the real heavyweights in Australian-made gates,” Ms Garnett said. “Locally owned and operated, the Murray difference means all gates feature improved notched welding.

“The benefits of the double-notched corner welds on all Murray gates, means greater strength and a longer life for your gate.

“With a range of gates, including the Murray N-Stay for strength, the Murray Horse Mesh gate for horse safety and the vertical range – including the I-Stay, Exclusion and Ballimore range – there really is an Australian-made gate for your needs.”
