The Fertiliser Australia Board recently announced a significant price reduction for Fertcare Handling participants to encourage enrolment.

The price drop, from $700 to $195, follows Fertcare’s move to a modern, easily accessible online platform hosted by Tocal College.
Fertiliser Australia executive manager Stephen Annells said the board approved the sizable price reduction to ensure Fertcare Handling training is not only easily accessible through and online format, but also at a price point where both large and small organisations can ensure all required staff are trained.

Fertcare Handling is one of the Fertcare accreditation programs designed to promote safe and responsible fertiliser use and provide sound advice to end users.

Who should do Fertcare Handling training?

Fertcare Handling suits people who are directly handling fertilisers, particularly concerning storage, professional application, and general rural merchandise roles.

What will they learn?

All Fertcare Handling participants undertake the compulsory product knowledge module.

This module provides a basic understanding of solid and liquid fertilisers, including physical identification, labels, storage and handling characteristics and the main environmental and food safety risks associated with fertilisers.

Fertcare Handling has two elective modules – storage and application and participants can choose the module relevant to their job.

The storage module covers regulations, solid and liquid fertiliser storage issues and port operations.

In the application module, participants choose from broadcast spreading of solid fertiliser, banding solid and liquid fertiliser or boom liquid fertiliser application methods.
