Bill Terry has been appointed general manager of newly established specialty fertiliser company Nitro Ag.

Nitro Ag has been set up with support from Eurochem and local Australian agribusiness interests to import, distribute and market Nitrophoska and other fertilisers manufactured by Eurochem.

Nitro Ag will also import and distribute a range of other water-soluble specialty fertilisers, principally from European manufacturers, to support the Nitrophoska NPK products and to provide customers with a complete specialty fertiliser offering.

Mr Terry’s career in the fertiliser industry commenced in 1982 when he joined Australian Fertilizers Limited (AFL) as a young “field officer/agronomist”, not long out of university.

AFL eventually became Incitec Pivot limited and after 15 years with the Incitec group, Mr Terry joined Yara International where he remained for almost 21 years. During his time with Yara, he spent ten years as country manager for Yara Australia and a further three years as country manager for Yara Malaysia.

Mr Terry said he returned to Australia at the end of 2017 to manage his small beef cattle farm at Dorrigo in northern NSW, but it wasn’t long before he set up his own agribusiness consulting and contracting business and was back in the fertiliser industry.

“I come to Nitro Ag with a long history in the fertiliser business and am excited to be involved with Nitrophoska which has such a strong brand and a long presence in the Australian horticultural fertiliser market.”
