Troy Animal Healthcare (Troy) is pleased to announce the launch of Zotel Lice, a 20 g/L spinosad pour-on lousicide for sheep.
“This is a great addition to our lousicide portfolio following the acquisition of Avenge + FLY in 2021,” says Dr Claire Hunt, technical services veterinarian for Troy.
“Zotel Lice is an ideal rotation option off-shears when spinosad has not been used as a long-wool lousicide treatment prior to shearing. With its low-odour, low-viscosity, water-based formulation, Zotel Lice is user friendly.
“The formulation makes cleaning equipment quick and easy – just use water! Available in a 22 L value drum, Zotel Lice is a cost-effective addition to the lousicide category,” Dr Hunt said.
Zotel Lice is manufactured at Troy’s own head office and manufacturing site in Glendenning, Sydney making it proudly Australian made and owned.
“By manufacturing at our own facility, we have absolute control from start to finish meaning we can respond to market needs and easily ensure a high-quality product is available to producers,” Dr Hunt said.
Zotel Lice can be applied as a knock-down lousicide up to 7-days off-shears and to unshorn suckling lambs, or as a long-wool treatment to suppress lice populations until next shearing.
If used as a long-wool treatment, Dr said it is critical to apply a knock-down lousicide from a different chemical group at the next shearing. Avenge + FLY makes a great rotation product in this situation.
Zotel Lice is applied with a 4-hole T-Bar nozzle on either a hand applicator or a power doser. Both applicator options are available for order from Troy and are Zotel Lice branded.
