Joining Agsafe is Osmond Udayanga, recently appointed project officer for the new bagMUSTER initiative. He will maintain the bagMUSTER database management system and ensure data security, reliability, performance, and integrity.

Under the direction of bagMUSTER manager David Leitch, Mr Udayanga will also assist in project design, contribute to the bagMUSTER section of the database, maintain documentation, contribute to policy development, and define operational procedures.

Degree qualified in IT with a specialisation in network security, Osmond’s skill set includes web development, system administration, data analytics and configuration, automation and system upgrades.

Mr Udayanga said it was an honour to be a part of Australia's inaugural not-for-profit, industry-wide initiative for collecting and recycling agricultural bags.

“bagMUSTER has given me the opportunity to dedicate myself to providing exceptional service and cultivating strong ties with both clients and stakeholders for a more sustainable future.”

Jemma Gates.

Jemma Gates, an accomplished administrative and recruitment professional, has joined Agsafe's Member Services team.

Ms Gates said she’s looking forward to her role as an integral part of the member services team, working to support Agsafe member premises across Australia to ensure compliance with the Agsafe Industry Standard.

Her background covers warehouse management, logistics, security, and government. Agsafe members services manager Angela Harrison said this experience provides a solid foundation for her new role.

“Jemma excels at cultivating stakeholder relationships, aligning perfectly with Agsafe's mission to enhance member services and promote workplace and community safety. Her career showcases her dedication to excellence and positive impact across various sectors.

“Her extensive experience equips her with a strong administrative skill set. Jemma’s prior work with the Department of Agriculture enriches the Agsafe team. Her understanding of agriculture and collaborative approach will advance ongoing member support,” Ms Harrison said.

Agsafe meanwhile has another Richard as Marketing and Communications Manager.

Richard Thomson.

After five years in charge of Agsafe communications, Richard Boyce has passed the baton on to Richard Thomson, a former journalist and marketing manager with the Herald and Weekly Times, News Limited and Canberra Times groups. Richard Boyce now offers freelance communications services.

The new Richard hails from Fiji and also has many years’ communications and publishing experience in Canberra and the region – with universities, international organisations, corporations and government agencies.

Mr Thomson said his experience in the agricultural sector only extends to lending a hand on his mates’ farms. However, he looks forward to applying his broad experience in the media, marketing and communications to advance the important work of Agsafe.
