Haifa Australia has welcomed the appointment of Sheri Robinson to the role of sales agronomist for the South Australia and the Riverina region in New South Wales.

Ms Robinson has developed a unique skillset from a career in industry liaison and business management, as well as a grower, giving her unique insights into the industry.

Haifa Australia is looking forward to her applying this experience in supporting growers and advisers with the efficient use of its high-quality water-soluble fertilisers and associated application tools.

Ms Robinson hails from generations of farmers and educators originally rooted in the Barossa Valley of SA and this background is reflected in her own career across several states.

Completing a degree in agriculture from the University of Adelaide’s Waite and Roseworthy campuses, majoring in viticulture and building wider horticulture knowledge, she also worked as a grower liaison officer in the wine grape industry.

Alongside a husband also working in the sector, her career path took her to NSW, where she coordinated the on-farm trials program for Charles Sturt University.

Her business and financial management experience commenced with the running of a contract viticulture and machinery services operation in the south east region of SA.

With her young family, she then had a stint in Tasmania, working in a variety of consultancy and hands-on roles, including full management of a small vineyard property. She continued in a similar management role after the family returned to Adelaide and based themselves near the McLaren Vale region.

Ms Robinson said communicating industry extension and assisting the adoption of key farming concepts with a grower perspective was a constant theme during the early part of her career. That perspective was then enhanced by running a business and building her own experience as a grower.

“I am a concept- and logical thinker and do like to look at new solutions from the perspective of a farmer,’’ Ms Robinson said.

She said she looked forward to applying her skills in a broader horticultural environment with Haifa Australia, assisting new concept thinking and the development of strategies with advisers and growers that can help improve productivity and sustainability.

“Haifa’s fertiliser products are well-known for their high quality and their efficient application is vital to achieve maximum benefit and value for growers and to strengthen the sustainability of their operations,’’ she said.
