As a leading supplier of certified seed potatoes to commercial growers, Elders has proudly announced they are the major sponsor for the upcoming World Potato Congress, to be held in Adelaide June 23 -26.

Committed to supporting and advancing the global potato industry and with the major milestone of celebrating 185 years of servicing Australian agriculture in 2024, Elders recognises the importance of supporting events that foster innovation, knowledge exchange, and sustainable practices like the world congress.

Elders aims to contribute to the success and impact of this influential event and general manager rural products Nick Fazekas said the company is delighted to be the major sponsor in their home city of Adelaide.

"We believe in the importance of the World Potato Congress event to drive progress and collaboration.

“We hope to contribute to a successful event through our substantial industry experience and extensive knowledge of the challenges that commercial growers face,” Mr Fazekas said.

“The theme of ‘new world meets old’ will open conversation about the future of the industry globally as we see significant opportunities arise in emerging markets, both geographic and customer-preference based.”

He said changing customer demands are impacting the product and the way markets are served, creating a significant change the industry will need to adapt to, to remain viable and profitable.

“The World Potato Congress will analyse these trends and more.”

Elders encourages industry professionals, farmers, researchers, and all potato enthusiasts to join the Congress and take advantage of opportunities for networking, learning, and engagement.
