The diversity of the Nutrien business and its support of regional communities was amply demonstrated recently at Australia’s premier campdraft competition and performance horse sale, the Nutrien Classic and at the Classic Store Cattle Sale.

Chaps and ten-gallon hats were the order of the day as competitors and horse enthusiasts descended on Tamworth in numbers to rival the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

The 2023 Nutrien Classic generated more than $17.09 million from 583 sale horses, eclipsing last year’s gross of $17.05 million.

Continuing the cowboy theme, the 2023 Nutrien Classic Store Cattle Sale was also a great success. Held at the Tamworth Regional Livestock Exchange, the Nutrien Livestock team yarded 3305 head, grossing approximately $5.2 million.

Nutrien selling agent and auctioneer Tim Hollis said, “Each year, the store sale is well supported by vendors and buyers and this year was no exception. The recent rainfall instilled confidence in the market, and this was reflected in the results.”

Another aspect to this annual event is The Classic Ladies Foundation which once again went above and beyond with their fundraising efforts, raising more than $144,000.

The women behind the Classic Ladies Foundation are located across Australia and come together for the event to give back to charities that advocate for causes impacting their community.

Funds were generated through a charity auction, including a stud horse; classic luncheon; equine clinic; and monster raffle held during the Nutrien Classic equine event.

Carolyn McNabb of the Classic Ladies Foundation said, “We’re incredibly grateful for the donations we received for the Classic auction and monster raffle. Each year, the money the Foundation raises is donated to a worthwhile cause, and this year, the Pancare Foundation and the Royal Flying Doctors Service will be the worthy recipients.”
