Animal Health Australia (AHA) welcomed two new board directors, Lucinda Corrigan and Stuart Crockett at its 27th Annual General Meeting held recently.

AHA also farewelled outgoing board directors, Paula Fitzgerald and Catherine Cooper, and re-elected Sharon Starick as AHA chair.

CEO of Animal Health Australia, Kathleen Plowman has congratulated the two new directors on their election, saying they will bring new knowledge, experiences, and connections to AHA’s already existing and qualified board.

“Lucinda and Stuart bring a wealth of experience to the board at a time where innovation, transformative thinking and network connecting is a must for our organisation.

“I also want to thank Paula and Catherine for their invaluable contributions during their time on the board, ensuring AHA has not only remained viable but grown and prospered over the past four to six years since they joined us.”

NSW Riverina industry figure, Lucinda Corrigan joins the board as an experienced non-executive director with a speciality in livestock breeding and genetics and has extensive networks and an outstanding reputation in the livestock sector.

“I am looking forward to joining AHA at a time of increased biosecurity challenges and climate change adding to that complexity.

“Australia has an amazing record of doing biosecurity well; with increasing urbanisation and global trade, the risk has increased and strong partnerships throughout government, industry and the AHA members will mitigate that increasing risk,” she said.

Stuart Crockett from WA joins the board with an extensive trade and investment background having worked in Australia, the UK, USA and China in various roles for the public and private sectors and has worked as a senior leader with one of WA’s largest protein producers and exporters, Craig Mostyn Group.

“As an exporter and promoter of Australia’s food products throughout the world I am extremely proud to join the board of AHA,” he said.

“Australia’s significant credentials in biosecurity management are world’s best practice and I look forward to helping ensure all global supply chains are prepared for any issues that may arise.

“I have spent a significant part of my life in advocating roles and together with AHA board directors, staff and members want to ensure Australia’s gold standard biosecurity measures are maintained and shared. AHA is a peak body in biosecurity preparedness and I look forward to trying to enhance that position even further.”

At the AGM, AHA also welcomed back Zoo and Aquariums Australia as an associate member and warmly welcomed new associate member, Stock Feed Manufacturers Council of Australia, which means AHA is now representing a total of 35 government, livestock industry and research members and associate members.
